Comment | Another vote for City of Glasgow college course. Signed up with some mates to do Cooking for Friends. Most were pairs or groups of pals but a few people on their tod.
Was under a tenner a class (plus your ingredients) and l taught by Gary Maclean - proper chef but totally normal, down to earth guy. He won Masterchef the Professionals (obviously dunno if he’s still there tho)
I couldn’t even chop an onion but was all very manageable and adaptable recipes.
They’ll tell you what you’re cooking in advance of the class and you being along the ingredients like chicken, leeks, salmon (unless it’s something daft like a pinch of this or that or something tiny that’s hard to come be, they’ll provide that.) And they were really helpful, if you didn’t like something eg duck, they’d adapt the recipe to something you did like so you’d not be taking home food you wouldn’t/couldn’t eat.
Noticed you mentioned Indian/Asian cooking - I can’t remember exactly but we did a Thai hot and sour soup, a fancy curry.
Normally we’d do a main and a desert each night
