I think the OP means that the Unis have been taking out nomination agreements with private providers like Unite Students - the Unis then manage the allocations of those rooms to their students the same way they do with their own accommodations like Murano Street. It used to happen sporadically (e.g. Strathclyde have had agreements in the past with Nido St James) but after the issues last year many of them have taken out agreements in bulk and early to try and ringfence for their students because they don't have enough provision in their own halls. |
