Comment	Aye, me! OP, you were walking on the road. Walk on the pavement. If he’s ‘skidded his bike inches away’ that means he’s had to break suddenly. I doubt he’s flown around a corner; either OP didn’t notice him (headphones) or stepped onto the road.
