This is actually a [phenomenon](https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/cities/2017/may/12/blowing-wind-cities-poor-east-ends) that the east end of cities are generally poorer.

One theory is that air pollution generally flows east (like in the picture).
