I wonder this as well. I'm fairly lucky on the higher income bracket of >40k at the moment. A few of my mates are on like 22k at the moment and have no clue how they cope, man.
I recently became single as well but my ex was financially a fucking idiot so it doesn't make that much odds to me in the pocket.
