Most local service buses are designed for commuting and are pretty much interurban, with scenery being few and far between. (Unless your idea of scenery is rows of old tenement blocks.

Service 1B goes from Glasgow to the costal town of Helensburgh. Helensburgh used to be a popular day trip spot for older people when the weather was nice. Along the way you’ll pass a couple of districts west of the city centre, hit a couple of commuter towns, get a bit semi rural after Dumbarton with views onto the Clyde.

Similarly the 906 from Glasgow to Largs just on the south side of the river Clyde.

Both are nearly 2 hour journeys though.
