The stuff you see on the outside was clad on to the existing exterior circa 2000ish, and the lift machines and controllers live in the plant room. Source, I worked with the company who fitted the safety anchors for the cladding guys to hook onto then a few years later I became a lift engineer and fixed the lifts up there
