Don't have specific answers to why that area's in the nick it is now. There's changes coming though. That massive vacant lot next to Candleriggs is being cleared just now for a huge mixed housing development. And Argyle Street (from Central Station eastwards out to Trongate) is next up in the planning schedule for an Avenue makeover (like Sauchiehall St is getting now). These should make a fair difference to the entire area around Trongate I think. |
