Im sure they had this on their social medias a few years back basically saying how proud they are to have an official chairty partner and that theyd be adding £1 to each bill as well as their own donations. That was a while ago so im not sure if it'll be the same charity partner but they definitely advertised it and they also mentioned it on their menus as well as putting it on the receipt as you've mentioned.

Theres probably an arguement that the staff member should make you aware at the time if giving you the bill but the fact its not hidden makes it perfectly legal. You also mentioned they took it off no issues when you asked.


Its for a kids charity and its £1 so in fairess 99% of people probably notice it, ask what it is then pay it so i dont really see an issue.
