Flexi pass is 15% off 5 return journeys, as it stands now that will cost you £117.30 from Queen St to Waverley for 5 return journeys at peak time. Worth factoring that in to your decision against the prospective wage the company are paying, especially if you can get the bus for free.

That being said, I moved house and got a car, and even driving my own car was horrendous. I'd leave at 5am to beat the traffic, earliest I could leave the office was 4.30pm so often wasn't home until 7pm. Would I have kept it up if I could have negotiated leaving at about 2 or 3pm? Potentially for a while longer than I did, but I didn't think it was sustainable for me long term. For me personally, I don't think I'd ever take a job again that involved a regular edinburgh commute unless I could expense trains and work to flexible hours, but it's horses for courses you know.

That all goes for the bus as well though, if you have something you are keen to study, or an interest that will work with patchy wi-fi or on paper, you can get a lot of time to focus while on bus journeys so you could get more value from the bus commute than I did (despite me reading LOADS of books which was nice).
