| Comment | Sorry to be controversial, are you sure you are right for the dog? From your description you seem like you have very busy lives? Will this dog be left at home alone a lot of the time? Is that really fair on a dog?
I love dogs and want you to have a dog but I just want you to think about things from the dogs point of view.
Hopefully I am mistaken and you feel able to care for a dog. If so, I cannot recommend greyhounds enough, provided you dont have other little prey item sized pets.
My sadly departed greyhound is by far the best dog I have ever had. I got her from GAL. It's a bit of a process because there are a lot of evil people out there who also want a greyhound.
Puppies are a LOT of work. They are super cute and you have a special bond with a dog when you get one as a puppy, but prepare to be awash with peepee and other delights. Also there is the chewing.
There are rescue centres, but are you just getting somebody elses problem dog? There is Gumtree but are you buying from a puppy farm? If I was taking on another dog I would prefer to know the previous situation first. |
