| Comment | When i moved back to the uk - right at the beginning of lockdown - my driving license and students loan were registered at my late dad's house, on the opposite side of edinburgh from my mum's house where I ended up staying. So like the day after i arrived i registered at a gp near there and just told them i was staying with my stepmom. Stayed registered there right until I moved to glasgow last year so like 2.5 years. Got a bit ridiculous towards the end tbh, picking up prescriptions was a bit of a chore.
So yeah just go there. Tell them you're moving "soon" lol
(The actual reason i didn't want to register near my mum's house was i have a bit of residual trauma because i was very sick at 16 and the doctor couldn't help- seeing him again kinda brings it back up. Though I heard he doesn't actually work there anymore so maybe it was pointless. Even so, my stepdad was registered at another gp near where he used to live too, because they were better than the one close by. But his was just down the road and i think he just told them he'd moved and didn't want to reregister and it was fine) |
