Do you have a source for that? I've never heard of hexavalent chromium being an issue in the canal. Shawfield and the Polmadie Burn, well that's a different story entirely...
In any case, it looks a hell of a lot like alge to me and it's around about the right time of year for it. I still wouldn't fancy taking a dip though! |
