This is not about lowering the bar. It's about putting your effort and energy where it would have most impact. I agree people should make effort to keep things clean. But have you seen the public? Have you tried to organise a large group of people, let alone the population of an entire city?


Your expectation is unrealistic. If this was the level of problems with bins we would be in a great place. And you know, moaning and wasting energy and time with such petty demands helps absolutely no one. It makes you negative and disappointed and that in itself drags all kinds of just giving up because "people are shit anyway". This is what bothers me immensely about these posts. I am not from Glasgow. I have lived abroad, I have lived in other cities and People really make Glasgow fantastic. But people are people, so it's never going to be perfect and contributing to a better city starts with being less condescending and judgemental about the people that live around you. It absolutely does not start with high unrealistic bars.
