Leeds always seems to get brought up when people ask if there are any other places like Glasgow. I lived in Leeds for a long time until recently and am still struggling with the culture shock of how car-centric and polluted it is here. Leeds does have big A roads down towards the south, but it is in one very specific part and doesn't cut the city up half as much as Glasgow - you also only encounter it if you go down that way/unless you live there, then you don't really have a reason to be travelling that way.

You also have lots of real residential areas in Leeds which are away from main roads - seems to be very difficult to rent anywhere away from a main road here (unless you can afford the luxury I'm sure).
