As a resident of the gorbals I have to disagree. Compared to other areas of the city that don’t have dedicated cycle infrastructure, it is very cycle friendly due to all the traffic calming and one way systems.

Also, the area where the Starbucks is proposed is behind the co op. Right beside the co op on crown street is a cafe (G5 Deli), new butchers (recently closed down but now taken over again!), two locally owned corner shops, a barber, a hairdressers and beauty salon, and a fish and chip shop being refurbished. So there are plenty of businesses in the area and lots of investment happening too, such as the gorbals ideas fund.

In short we do not need nor want a Starbucks
