They can get an express bus to Glasgow City Centre pretty easily. A slower one (more stops) goes past the Kelvingrove, that'd be good for a couple of hours.

They could get a bus to Braehead shopping centre, they've got kids activities on over the summer as well as the typical shops and food court. There's an Odeon there too.

From Braehead it's short journey to Govan where you can visit and exhibition of viking gravestones at Govan Old Church (open 1pm- 4pm) and get a free boat over to the Riverside Transport museum.
