Im very much willing to bet they arent supposed to put tables there.... as the canal towpath is scottish canals land and a protected monument, but in any case they have a bit of beer garden which youve ignored which is off the towpath. In either case it hardly matters as beer tastes the same in plastic as glass, and folk that moan about that are fuds.
