He's being evasive and lying about shit and I can tell when he's steaming from his texts when we're chatting. I've tried the nice approach and trying to go out with him for coffees and walks, etc but he's not really interested and he kept lying and trying to cover up his drinking and telling me he was sober which was obvious shite.
I've now taken the approach with a few of our good pals to just set it straight and flat out tell him if he doesn't stop it or attempt to stop it, he's going to fucking kill himself with the booze.
Does anyone have any advice at all as a pal to an alcoholic? I want to help him but really, short of going to his family home and stopping him physically from drinking, I can't fucking think of anything to help him. He doesn't want to help himself at the moment and it's quite upsetting and infuriating at the same time. |
