I guess I’d sign up for all three providers in hopes that at least one of them uses a different address API but that might not help if Equifax has your address wrong. The good news is that sometimes these systems have “fuzzy matching” which allows them to match data that might be slightly different or formatted different.
So I’d do the following: sign up for a credit score service, see if they can find you. If they can, great. If not you can try to contact Equifax directly. Note: if you just moved you might need to wait three months to sign up as the address changes won’t be in effect yet.
I’d also get in touch with Royal Mail again and get it in writing that they weren’t notified. You can then use that as proof to speak to the council so that they rectify it. I suspect the council hasn’t contacted them but I might be wrong. If the council insists they have you can always ask for some kind of proof.
If all else fails you can reach out to your local citizens advice if you haven’t already and even your local MSP. They can’t just leave you with a findable address. |
