Check out rutherglen too. Very close to motorway, trains every 10mins to city centre and westend. There’s cunigar loop, Overton park, and cathkin braes (5min drive) for dog walking. Dalmarnock would probably tick those boxes too, and has a nice riverside walk into Glasgow green/merchant city. Just be wary of the water treatment works which can be a tad smelly on a hot day!
