If she lives in a city I would say day trip to Dunoon, lovely cafes , all the charity shops you can eat, beautiful gentle walks, and the ferry itself is a pleasure.

If she lives somewhere smaller than Buchanan galleries? Not too hot inside , and plenty of good restaurants cafes pubs nearby.

Routen Glen is another good one, take the bus to the boat house, have coffee, meander down to the walked garden and the water fall etc, end up in the garden centre which is really one of the better ones (or at least it used to, the owners are getting really old now)
