| Comment | I have private health care which I have used a few times the past couple of years. Always required a letter of referral from my registered GP when seeing a private doctor booked via my private health care provider. Not sure if this is standard practice, but my health care provider stated that the private doctor could refuse to see me and still charge me the consultation fee without a referral letter. |
