| Comment | Yes, I naively paid one of them some money in advance. This was the one who came recommended the highest, and turned out to be the worst by far. Initially thought we were lucky to get him because of some good work he'd carried out for a relative in the past. Tuned out he'd had a spectacular fall from grace since that work, and was now essentially just conning everyone who employed him, leaving a trail of devastation everywhere he went. Harsh (and expensive) lesson learned. |
