Pedestrianisation seems like it would be better for restaurants/cafes/bars as there would be more footfall and space for tables with nice trees for a bit of shelter. But I’m not sure what could be done with the empty department shops like the old BHS. As the shopping centres are remodelled maybe they might fit some of the businesses that were in there, but they are odd buildings for modern business to take on. |
