Got back from a trip to Italy. I arrived at a restaurant at Pisa at 23.15 and was still served delicious freshly made cuisine, the place didn't close until 01:00 on a Saturday.
I'm afraid we just don't have the same food culture in the UK, people have lower standards and hence the food is worse as well on average.
