I'm not an anti-traffic light fundamentalist (do those exist?!) or a troll. Just curious if you're basing that off a hunch or not, because pedestrians are taught how to judge the flow of traffic, look both ways and even how to cross when road users have a green light (when safe to do so). Overreliance on pedestrian lights occasionally leads people to forget to look both ways, then inattentive drivers still plow through red lights.
We've had a small increase in deaths on the road in Glasgow in the last two weeks, and all while traffic lights were in operation. My hope is the lights have been turned off today in response to those deaths, so GCC can reprogram their lights and improve traffic flow. *Knowing GCC though, it's probably just a mistake*. |
