I don’t know what to tell you mate. There is no such thing as road tax. If you are paying something called a road tax every August you are likely being scammed. You seem pretty ignorant on the subject so you are likely a prime target for scammers.
What I think you are likely referring to is your Vehicle Excise Tax but that is not and never has been a “road tax” but if you are very uninformed and don’t really know what you are paying than I could see how you might think it is some kind of road tax. It isn’t though and that is just you showing your ignorance. That money goes into the general exchequer fund just like council tax or corporation tax. This is a giant pot of money which pays for all manner of services. This include roads but also includes basically everything else the exchequer pays for. Those pedestrians you are speaking of are likely paying council tax and corporation tax so they pay for those roads every bit as much as you do. Sorry mate that is the objective truth you can’t really argue otherwise.
You aren’t special and a lot of those pedestrians are likely paying way more than you in tax. You need to learn to share the road and not be an idiot. |
