Comment | As others have said, if its Edinburgh you'd be better with public transport - I'm assuming that with it being two days and young kids that you'll not be travelling very early in the morning or late at night. Kids do love the train, and the scotrail Express service (via Falkirk High) is fast, frequent and usually will have a toilet on board.
Don't but your children's tickets online, you can add "Kids for a Quid" at the booking office and save a good chunk. Railcard is also a good shout.
If budget is a priority, Citylink run the 900 from Buchanan Bus Station to Edinburgh City centre (Princes St) or AIR to the airport. Cheaper, and they run through the night, but journey time is longer and less consistent than the train, but the toilets might be a struggle with youngsters. |
