| Comment | The only thing I’d add here, is be persistent with the GP. You have said you will make an appointment - good on you, it’s the right thing to do and they will be able to help you.
Each practice is different, but it can be difficult to get an appointment at the moment. Expect to be on hold for a good while. Some receptionists can be a bit frosty and will ask you to call back if there are no appointments left when you do get through. I’d politely ask to be seen as quickly as possible - explain you are struggling with mental health and need to speak to someone urgently. It is their job to try and filter out the urgent from the not so urgent - you are one of the urgent ones so please, politely, don’t take no for an answer. |
