Comment | I’ve seen some not great stuff in town but last night I was walking to the taxi rank (around 3.30am so club kicking out time) and a guy came up to me like ‘what’s your name, I wanna talk’. I told him to fuck off, walked a bit away and another guy came straight over to ask if I was ok. I absolutely was, the first dude was still trying to talk but didn’t push it further and I was comfortable enough to get shouty if I needed to. I told the second guy I appreciated him checking.
I’ve been working in clubs and doing gigs for over 10 years, and was out about most weekends for since 2002. I’ve thankfully never been in a situation in Glasgow where I felt unsafe. Whenever I have had idiots around, 9/10 someone will try to help me out. I’ve been that person for other people who need help getting away too. I hold hope that no matter how bad things can be, someone is usually there to help out, and I have always loved that about Glasgow.
Had a similar experience in Ponty, Wales, and that was studiously ignored by everyone around. Wankers. |
