I wouldn’t necessarily say they are completely different but yes there is a difference in that Scotland as a member of the UK has less power than Scotland would have as a member of the EU.

However that could change as the EU moves towards a “closer ever union” and the power of member states is reduced which is why a lot of people want to leave the EU (its not all about immigrants as it gets made out to be). The EU start as a great trading bloc but it has developed more and more into a political union which I don’t think anyone can argue with).

On the note that Scotland and “England” are different politically and economically, yes there are differences, but not as much as a difference as any other European country. Also its important to note that the North of England and working class areas of the rest of England vote in line with Scotland. And those areas have more in common with say Glasgow than Glasgow does with a town in Aberdeenshire.

In the 2017 general election, 28.6% of people voted Conservatives compared to 36.9% which voted SNP and 27.1% that voted Labour. That is as you can see not a substantial difference as the MP numbers would make out.

And if we want to talk about arrogant of war mongering its important to note that France is currently spearheading the creation of a European Union Army and if you have any iota of current affairs you’ll know the French as just as every bit as arrogant and warmongering and right wing as the English and you seem to have no issue with being in a union with them.
