| Comment | I could tell you stories like this (and far worse) from the 90s and 2000s and older people would no doubt be able to tell you far, far worse from the 60s, 70s, 80s etc.
And although I'm not sitting looking at violent crime figures I'm fairly confident that Glasgow in 2023 is a far less violent city than it has been historically.
That said, it still has a tonne of pretty brutal social and economic situations and a decade or so of under investment in public services, major economic downturns and a pandemic won't have helped.
Is Glasgow getting worse? Depends when you are comparing it to but taking the long view, no. |
