In terms of transport, you can get the number six bus from Govanhill, Battlefield, Mount Florida and Cathcart to East Kilbride in around 30-40 minutes. There is also a train to East Kilbride that stops at Crossmyloof in Shawlands which is a really popular area and only takes about 25 minutes.
