Word of warning, speak to your GP before you do this if you are hoping that the assessment will lead to treatment/medication. Be very clear about who will be assessing you, what their qualifications are, give your GP as much info as you can and ask them if it meets NICE guidelines.

My employer paid for me to under go a private assessment, which I don't think was cheap. I was very detailed, took place over multiple sessions and took about 4 hours overall, my GP said he didn't consider it a diagnosis because it was carried out by a psychologist rather than a psychiatrist.

So I'm back to waiting 2 years for an NHS assessment. At least it was my employers money that was wasted not mine...
