Although this is focused on community gardening you will get an idea of what grows well here ( I am very envious of their strawberries).
It's an opportunity to meet like minded people some of whom are new to growing in our climate.
If you search for Community Gardens in your area people at these will generally be happy to chat to you an advise what grows well here.
Glasgow Seed Library also have free seeds, although now is not a great time a lot have gone, available from the CCA on Sauciehall St.
