Also, while not central, Houston Kiltmakers are in Paisley which is a short train ride away, I got myself a lovely deer leather sporran in there that was made, surprisingly, in Barrhead. So it's more local than a lot of the ones you see in shops. Not sure how widely they are stocked.
One thing worth noting though is that a fair number of more formal sporrans are made with seal skin and that isn't allowed to be imported to the states. There's always a chance that customs won't check your luggage and you will get away with it, but I would prefer not to have the stress while travelling. So make sure and ask when you are buying it what it's made out of. |
