As a parent with kids. That side of it is pretty lame. Lot of people won't open their doors (understandably). Not very much for them to do unless someone organises an event. It's cold dark & often raining so definitely not like we see on TV.
I've heard Kilmarnock (in Ayrshire) go big. They do killiewean the Friday closest to Halloween.
