Having worked for some years at a 3rd sector building control subby as an engineer.

Historic Scotland are some of the countries worst nimby's with an obsession in sinking their own grubby mitts & vision into other peoples property.

They're nothing but a thorn & a time consuming money sink since their formation in the 1970s and powers granted in the 1980s. They are a massive barrier to the redevelopment of Scotlands most deprived former industrial areas & we'd be better off without them.

Watching them kaibosh, time & time again, plans to redevelop old tobacco & sugar warehouses in Greenock, where I was working, was soul destroying.
