Also its not as expensive as a lot of people think? It is if you're getting a psychologist but often times a counsellor or other professional is a good place to start to get a handle on things.
Its also good to know that a lot of counsellors and other psych care professionals and institutions offer pretty substantially reduced rates to folks in difficult financial situations.
I was a client of a counsellor who offered what would be £50 sessions for £30 for folks who were skint.
Theres also voulenteers and students who need contact time for their work experience or are just doing it for the karma, and will be working voulentarily for various organisations. I had one of these folks kinda completely change my life a while ago, and this was *after* going to the NHS and getting through the waiting list just to be told by a guy who couldn't help atall that my issues weren't serious enough.
If you know where to look, its very affordable. |
