| Comment | It's not to do with the stairs being clockwise or not, it's because most stairs start at the front of the block and have two flights so your facing the front of the building when you enter the landing and flat 1 is always on your left. Even if the stairs went anti clockwise and you entered the first floor on the right hand side flat 1 would be the one furthest to the left.
Some blocks you walk to the back on the ground floor to get to the stairs and then walk up the first flight towards the front of the building then turn back on yourself for the second flight which takes you into the first floor facing the back of the building so then 1/1 is above 0/1 if that makes sense. |
