same reason most hate groups/movements do it. many people join these kinda groups because they feel like they have no power in their day to day lives but also feel like their owed something by a world that's moving further and further away. rather than accept change and move on, they often find the people who are angry at the same things they are and who are willing to tell them "it's everyone's fault but ours. these are the people who's fault it is" basically selling them a placebo to the problem they created.

the youtube channel innuendo studios has a great video called "how to radicalize a normie" which talks about how many people fall down the rabbit hole into joining hate groups. [the video in question](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P55t6eryY3g) if you want to learn more.

speaking anecdotally, i've had family members who were skinhead nazi's in the 80's and i've met ex orange order. many of the recruitment tactics and initiations are similar. it's no surprise many of them go after men who feel their masculinity/way of life is being questioned. not saying that other people don't fall into these movements (they do) but they tend to be seen more as tokens or funneled into different hate movements (TERFS)
