Yes, there was institutional piss taking 15 years ago but I get really irritated when you see 'MP from party you don't like had expenses bill of £5,000 last year while constituents STARVED' type headlines, without any context given as to whether that level of expenses is reasonable or legitimately claimed.
Labour's shadow chancellor got it recently for flying business class for a meeting in the US when that's literally the point of business class. |
