Comment | I agree. People need to take a degree of responsibility: to better themselves, to better their own environment. But sadly in Glasgow (but also overall in the U.K.) there’s very little civic sense.
It’s easy to blame the government/successive governments for everything that is wrong. YES, governments deserve blaming, but that doesn’t mean that the individual can’t take their empty McDonald’s wrapper home.
I’m going to sit on my arse and wonder why I don’t get a better job, I’ll chuck my rubbish on the street and blame the council, blame Thatcher because my life is shite, while I kill my brain cells watching shite on TikTok, while I could pick up a book, do a £15 course on Udemy to pick up some new skills, volunteer, be a decent human being but no, I’m going to shit on my own plate and blame the Tories, or the SNP, or the aliens, because it’s always someone else’s fault. |
