We rented a 5 bedroom house in Milngavie which a large reception room and garden (family members from abroad needed accommodation) and asked a friend of ours to set up a buffet. We had the party and the ceremony there. We were lucky to get flowers for free (I had forgotten about that, and one of our guests collected leftover flower arrangements from another wedding!)

We had 35 people and 3 dogs at the wedding, and several people told us that they thought it was one of the best if not the best wedding they had ever been to. We also provided inspiration for another wedding (they got married at the West Brewery).

Happy to provide details if you like. Getting married doesn't have to cost a lot of money. One last pro tip: hire a nanny for the day (or get your friends to do that as a wedding gift) . Makes the day much better for everyone involved.
