Generally its mature and gracious to accept charity when offered, but I always let them know there is no need to and sincerely thank the charitable giver.
We Glaswegians have a hard time accepting this and it is not the norm. We have all seen or been part of the *"You put that back in your pocket...NO I will pay!"* and so on performative drama.
Some people get a buzz out of philanthropy. *"Fucking yasss!"* I say. Take it at face value. |
