Many people feel the same as you when they take a step up but give it time you will grow into the role and gain confidence.

Don’t be afraid to say you don’t know the answer to a question or you are unsure of how to do something.

If someone senior asks you to do something and you are unsure, ask for guidance or help.

If you are senior to a colleague and they need your help with something and you’re not sure, ask if you can get back to them on it, as long as it is not urgent. The important bit is that you then actually go do something about it and get back to them. If you fob people off and don’t make decisions then people quickly lose confidence in you.

Also, you are not going to be able to keep everybody happy. Sometimes you need to tell people no.
