| Comment | Look out at foot level for bootscrapers, another artefact that survives from bygone times. In tenements in Partick or Garnethill you can see a recess, occasionally if you are lucky the iron strap across it is still there and have not been stolen for scrap.
You can tell you are in a fancy neighbourhoor when the ornate wrought iron bootscrapers are intact and looked after.
