Partick (or Thornwood ) and Kelvindale are both fine, Kelvindale a bit further away but probably better value for money. All three areas fine and very cycleable to / from W Regent St (basically car free routes all the way if that's your thing). Welcome to Glasgow, hope you have a blast.
