I moved here 20 years ago from a country with cold winters and hot summers. Scotland doesn't get very cold or very hot, you will probably be a wee bit miserable in winter when the days are short, dark and wet.

Best remedy is to spend as much time outdoors during daylight as you can manage. Scotland is amazingly beautiful, plenty of places within easy reach of Glasgow to go to. If you play golf, the place is practically crawling with golf courses.

Umbrellas don't work most of the time because our rain usually brings along his best pal, the Atlantic gale.
